The Newlyn Archive is a collection of material about Newlyn, about people connected to Newlyn, and about the significance of the history of Newlyn to our National Heritage. The photo above shows a concert at Newlyn Trinity Centre, which is the home of the Archive. The Archive was formed at the end of 2009 and has grown in popularity since that time, attracting visitors from home and abroad. It has become valued part of local culture and many Newlyners have contributed to it. Not all the material in the archive is listed on the website but we have tried to provide a flavour of our main holdings below.
The Lamorna Database contains two main areas Lamorna and Lamorna Society. There is a down‐loadable catalogue for each of these areas in PDF format.
The Art Database contains four main areas Galleries, Modern Artists, Arts and Crafts and Newlyn Colony of Artists.
The general archive catalogue is based on a digital database that is divided into eight main subject categories: places, maritime, fish trade, war, school, family, sport and leisure. Each item in the catalogue is given a unique number.
The PZ Fishing Boat database is a store of information about PZ boats that is frequently updated by volunteer Linda Holmes.
