On Friday 22 June 2018 the Wherrytown Co-op hosted a fund raising event selling cakes and running a tombola to raise awareness of the three local charities they are supporting of which the Archive is one.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered. In this photo David Barron and Helen Burnham can be seen next to a display showing some of the local events recorded in the Archive and some books produced by members of the Archive. Volunteers were at the Co-op all day to meet people and to answer questions about the Archive.
The Archive has been fortunate enough to be chosen as one of the three charities the Co-op supports and already has received £2209.72.
The Co-op staff, including those who came along from the Market Jew Street and Newlyn stores to support us, were exceptionally friendly and helpful during the day and there was a great atmosphere. Many people stopped and asked questions about the Archive and lots of leaflets and membership forms were given out. We hope that it has encouraged even more people to come and visit our Archive at the Boathouse. How great it is to see the local community coming together like this. Thank you again Co-op.
